Center of Excellence: Ribbed BenchesPlease click on the small plus symbol at the top right of an image to enlarge the view.The five benches and podium are located in the Center of Excellence building nearby Syracuse University Campus. Much like how the building is diagrammed the the powder-coated steel structure acts as the core of each bench. The tectonic addition of ply-boo rib mimics the facade system where the concrete fiberboard is hung. The generative design system of ply-boo ribs, green powder-coated steel, and cement fiberboard, allow for infinite variations which each rely on the other element for structural integrity. These three design boards are the original proposal boards which showcased the flexibility of the design system.
